For Aurora to break the curse, she must find a way to control her dreams and defeat the evil fairy within them. But as Maleficent’s agents follow her every move, Aurora struggles to discover who her true allies are and, moreover, who she truly is. Time is running out. Will the sleeping beauty be able to wake herself up?
As Old as Time | Beauty and the Beast Disney Twisted Tale
What if Belle’s mother cursed the beast? Belle is a lot of things: smart, resourceful, restless. She longs to escape her poor provincial town for good. She wants to explore the world, despite her father’s reluctance to leave their little cottage in case Belle’s mother returns — a mother she barely remembers. Belle also happens to be the captive of a terrifying, angry beast. And that is her primary concern. But when Belle touches the Beast’s enchanted rose, intriguing images flood her mind — images of the mother she believed she would never see again. Stranger still, she sees that her mother is a beautiful Enchantress who cursed the Beast, his castle, and all its inhabitants. Shocked and confused, Belle must work with the Beast to unravel a dark mystery about their families that was twenty-one years in the making.
Reflection | Mulan Disney Twisted Tale

With the help of Shang’s great lion guardian ShiShi, Mulan must traverse Diyu to find Shang’s spirit, face harrowing obstacles, and leave by sunrise–or become King Yama’s prisoner forever. Moreover, Mulan is still disguised as the soldier called Ping, wrestling with the decision to reveal her true identity to her closest friend. Will Mulan be able to save Shang before it’s too late? Will he ever be able to trust her again? Or will she lose him–and be lost in the Underworld–forever?

Conceal Don’t Feel | Frozen Disney Twisted Tale

But when mysterious powers begin to reveal themselves, Elsa starts to remember fragments of her childhood that seem to have been erased—pieces that include a very familiar-looking girl. Determined to fill the void she has always felt, Elsa must take a harrowing journey across her icy kingdom to undo a terrible curse… and find the missing Princess of Arendelle.
Conceal Don’t Feel Review
As with all the books in the A Twisted Tale series these novels take a story we all know, like Frozen, and mixes things up a bit. This tale follows Elsa, unaware of her powers, and Anna living in a village with foster parents. We love that our favorite characters, Kristoff and Sven, are still along for the ride in this story. We hate that Elsa has to learn parts of her story alone! And we still despise Hans for being a complete jerk. There were a lot of secrets revealed in this book, and a lot of things we questioned. So we made up some book club discussion questions to fetter out the feelings! Want to chat through this tale with your friends? Grab the Conceal Don’t Feel Twisted Tale Book Club questions!

Straight on Till Morning | Peter Pan Disney Twisted Tale
What if Wendy first traveled to Neverland . . . with Captain Hook? Sixteen-year-old Wendy Darling’s life is not what she imagined it would be. The doldrums of an empty house after her brothers have gone to school, the dull parties where everyone thinks she talks too much, and the fact that her parents have decided to send her away to Ireland as a governess—it all makes her wish things could be different. Wendy’s only real escape is in writing down tales of Never Land.
So when an opportunity to travel to Never Land via pirate ship presents itself, Wendy makes a deal with the devil. But Never Land isn’t quite the place she imagined it would be. Unexpected dangers and strange foes pop up at every turn, and a little pixie named Tinker Bell seems less than willing to help. But when Captain Hook reveals some rather permanent and evil plans for Never Land, it’s up to the two of them to save Peter Pan—and his world.
Straight on till Morning Review
What we loved about this book is that heroine role that Wendy takes on in the story. While as a character she always spoke her mind, Wendy really comes into her own as a character. As typical of any governess, she is able, and capable of making a difference and rallying the troops to save the island. Peter Pan fans will be happy to see her step easily into this role. We also loved the inside glimpse to special places in Neverland we had only before seen on the map. So many of the adventures take places in the jungle, with the lost boys.
So this is Love | Cinderella Disney Twisted Tale
What if Cinderella never tried on the glass slipper? Unable to prove that she’s the missing princess, and unable to bear life under Lady Tremaine any longer, Cinderella attempts a fresh start, looking for work at the palace as a seamstress. But when the Grand Duke appoints her to serve under the king’s visiting sister, Cinderella becomes witness to a grand conspiracy to take the king—and the prince—out of power, as well as a longstanding prejudice against fairies, including Cinderella’s own Fairy Godmother. Faced with questions of love and loyalty to the kingdom, Cinderella must find a way to stop the villains of past and present . . . before it’s too late.

Unbirthday | Alice in Wonderland Disney Twisted Tale
What if Wonderland was in peril and Alice was the only one who could save it…but was running late? In this tale, Alice is different than other eighteen-year-old ladies in Kexford, which is perfectly fine with her. She’d rather spend golden afternoons with her trusty camera or in her aunt Vivian’s lively salon, ignoring her sister’s wishes that she stop all that “nonsense” and become a “respectable” member of society. Alice is happy to meander to Miss. Yao’s teashop or to visit the children playing in the Square. She’s also interested in learning more about the young lawyer she met there, but just because she’s curious, of course, not because he was sweet and charming.
Returning to the place of nonsense from her childhood, Alice finds herself on a mission to stop the Queen of Hearts’ tyrannical rule and to find her place in both worlds. But will she able to do so . . . before the End of Time? Will the White Rabbit be able to help? Or the Queen of Clubs?
Unbirthday Review
So many twists in this new story. But thankfully with characters you mostly already know! What we loved about Unbirthday is that Alice really is just a regular girl, settled back into her own life, content with her photography and a guy she likes. It’s of course her curiosity and compassion that brings her back to Wonderland. And she takes on a whole new role to help save this land she remembers from her childhood. We love some of the messages in this book. For sometimes when we think all is lost, there is always another way. If only you believe.

Go the Distance | Hercules Disney Twisted Tale
What if Meg had to become a Greek God? After Hercules proves he’s a true hero and regains his godship, all seems right in the world. That is, until Zeus tells Meg that she can’t be with Hercules because she’s, well, mortal. Luckily, Hera has a solution, offering Meg a chance to prove herself worthy of a spot on Mt. Olympus–as a god. All Meg has to do is complete a mysterious quest.
The mission? To rescue her ex’s current wife from the Underworld. The ex-boyfriend she saved by selling her soul to Hades. The ex-boyfriend who immediately moved on to someone else while she was stuck in the Underworld. Can Meg put her past behind her and use her quick wit to defeat monsters and gods alike, including the nefarious Hades? Will she finally figure out her place and contribution to the world? Or will her fear of commitment have her running away from an eternity of godhood with Herc?
Go the Distance Review
This book picks up where the film leaves off, so it’s less than a twist and more of a continuation. Realizing she cannot join Hercules on Olympus, Meg must figure out something in order to be with her man. While Hercules does offer to become mortal and take his place on earth instead, Zeus puts the kibosh on that right away.
Luckily Meg finds a chance to get what she wants, but she has to go to the underworld to get it. Namely, confront the woman who stole her ex! Frankly, if this doesn’t feel like a telenovela we don’t what does. With tons of drama, and sass our girl Meg is in it to win it…even if it does trigger every feeling she’s ever had about commitment. And how dare Zeus and Hera ask her to go become a god just to be with their son? See what we mean here? The DRAMA!!!
