As a vegetarian visiting Walt Disney World, it’s sometimes challenging to find plant based meals that aren’t just fake meat. While the plant based options at Disney have gotten better since we started visiting the parks years ago, there are still times when we still find ourselves faced with the same option at every restaurant. Or a dinner made with a combination of veggie side dishes. And since we typically try to eat less meat heavy meals in general, we thought it would be helpful here on the blog, to dig into the BEST options if you’re a Vegetarian at Disney World, or eating Plant Based or Vegan.
Okay, generally if you’re a vegetarian that eats cheese and eggs, your options as a Vegetarian at Disney World are better than simply vegan or plant based. However, we’ll cover all those here too. Consider this your Vegan and Vegetarian Meal List for Walt Disney World.

Plant Based Dining at Disney World
What vegetarian, vegan and plant based foods are there at Disney World? Once you’ve been visiting Disney World for any period of time, as a vegetarian, or vegan, you’ll realize the main options are typically the same. Cauliflower, quinoa, salads, ,and pastas are pretty common. In fact you can tell when Disney is in a phase, because at some point every restaurant will offer some kind of roasted buffalo cauliflower. And that’s all you’ll be eating at every restaurant.
However, things have gotten better this past year or two. And of course, there is wide variety of “meat flavored” foods made with impossible meat, pea protein, soy, etc. Personally, as a vegetarian by preference, I don’t like the tastes of meat, so the Plant-Based Crab Cake at Columbia Harbour House will never be something I order. But for those of you loving the taste of meat, there are quite a few options.
What is Plant Based Dining at Disney World?
Any meals or dishes that are marked as “Plant Based” on Disney Menus, are denoted with a little green leaf. And are made of plant foods like grains, nuts, vegetables and fruit without animal meat, dairy, eggs or honey.
Plant Based Snacks at Disney World
We talk about Snacks at Disney World a lot, because they are some of our favorite things. So, what vegetarian, and vegan snacks at Disney World are available? Generally, you’re usually safe with any fruit flavored dole whip. And luckily on our Disney World Snacks Lists, you can also see if the item is plant based or not. In fact, the snacks are usually titles “Plant Based cupcake,” which is not great creative marketing, but it at least points you in the right direction.
Restaurants with Plant Based Menus
So, which restaurants have plant based dining? Almost all of the restaurants at Walt Disney World have at least one plant based option. Even the Regal Eagle BBQ Smokehouse includes a jackfruit burger. And luckily, in addition to the menu items across restaurants there are certain restaurants serving family style meals, that have Plant Based Menus. So, regardless of which type of non-carnivorous eater you are, you can always count on a full meal, completely meat free.

DOLE Whip® Soft-Serve and Floats
Did you know that fruit flavored Dole Whip is plant-based? That’s right, it’s vegetarian, vegan, and dairy free. As such you can grab the classic pineapple, lime and strawberry dole whip flavors without worry. Although, beware of the vanilla and coconut dole whip flavors, as they are not vegan, and sometimes offered as part of a swirl. So, be sure to ask if you’re unsure.
You can find the iconic Disney World Snack, Dole Whip, at a variety of places across Disney World. In the parks, you can grab a Dole Whip, Dole Whip Float and other varieties at Aloha Isle, Magic Kingdom. In Animal Kingdom you can get a Dole Whip with Hard Cider or Rum in it at Tamu Tamu Refreshments. And outside of the parks you can get authentic Dole Whip at the Pineapple Lanai counter at Disney’s Polynesian Resort.

Vegan and Vegetarian at Magic Kingdom
- Be Our Guest- Vandouvian Spiced Veggies
- Casey’s Corner Plant Based Slaw Dog
- Cinderella’s Royal Table
- Columbia Harbour House Mushroom Roll
- Cosmic Rays Starlight Cafe Patty Melt
- Crystal Palace- Plant Based Buffet
- Diamond Horseshoe- Cowpoke Platter
- Liberty Tree Tavern- Tavern Keepers Feast
- Pecos Ball Tall Tale Inn- Veggie Rice Bowl
- Pinocchio Village Haus Plant Based Cheese Pizza
- Plaza Restaurant- Impossible Chili Burger
- Skipper Canteen- Curried Veg Stew and Falafel
- Tony’s Town Square- Spaghetti and Impossible Meatballs
Be Our Guest- Vandouvian Spiced Veggies
Plant based options on the menu at Be Our Guest, include a potato leek soup, vanilla cake with lemon curd and Vandouvan Spice Vegetables. As a Prix Fixe meal you’re paying for a 3-course meal at one of the highest price points at WDW. The Vandouvan Spice Vegetables entree includes mixed seasonal vegetables, with red and yellow peppers, mushrooms, onions, eggplant, swiss chard, and sometimes acorn squash. Pickled mustard seeds are atop a hushpuppy-like corn cake. While this is a step up from the six tortellini offered before the menu change, from a protein perspective, there isn’t nearly enough here. And from a price perspective at $70 per adult and $41 per child, this is ALOT to pay for vegetables. That said, it’s by far one of the more creative dishes at Disney World, even if you will need to go find a protein shake afterwards.
Casey’s Corner Plant Based Slaw Dog
Over at Casey’s if you’re craving a hot dog you can grab the plant version with or without toppings. A typical Plant-based “Sausage” the Chicago tyle version comes topped with Diced Tomatoes, Onions, Yellow Mustard, and Chicago Green Relish. Be sure to grab a Mint Julep while you’re here!
Cinderella’s Royal Table Plant Based
As the most expensive restaurant in Magic Kingdom, we never really recommend eating at Cinderella’s Royal Table, and that goes doubly if you’re a Vegetarian at Disney or eating Vegan or Plant Based. Why? Because the options here just do not warrant the cost. For breakfast at Cinderella’s Royal Table you can get Plant-based Scrambled Eggs with Peppers, Onions, and Spinach served with Impossible™ Breakfast Sausage, Charred Tomatoes, and Multigrain Toast. Mind you this is similar to every other plant based breakfast platter across the park, and all of them are cheaper than the $69 price tag here.
For lunch and dinner, you can have Pan-roasted Cauliflower with Quinoa Salad with Tomato Jam and Chimichurri. And while we love cauliflower, and the addition of a little quinoa in the salad helps with the protein here, at $84 per adult, plant based dining at Cinderella’s Royal Table just isn’t worth it for us.
Columbia Harbour House Crispy Mushroom Roll
This Plant-based Crispy Mushroom Roll includes Cornmeal-fried Mushrooms, Plant-based Spicy Tartar Sauce, Lettuce, Tomatoes, and a Pickle served with French Fries. If you like mushrooms this is a great option to have what feels like a complete meal.
Cosmic Rays Starlight Cafe Patty Melt
You can grab a classic burger, made with Impossible™ Burger topped with Plant-based Swiss Cheese, Pickle Slaw, and Asteroid Sauce on Toast. Fries, and Salads are also available here. Plus you can choose from indoor or outdoor seating too.
Crystal Palace- Plant Based Buffet
One of our favorite Disney Character Dining restaurants is Crystal Palace. While we’re not huge fans of buffet dining, Pooh and Friends are always lovely, and it’s a great atmosphere to be in for a meal, whether you’re eating breakfast or dinner. If you’re a eating Vegetarian at Disney World, or Vegan or Plant Based, you have a variety of options here.
- Breakfast includes plant based Mickey Waffles, a variety of eggs dishes, oatmeal, and fruit.
- Lunch and Dinner serves assorted salads, vegetables, chana masala and rice. As well as soy frozen dessert and plant based desserts. While none of these dishes will blow you away, you will appreciate being able to find something plant based, that is more than just a side dish.
Diamond Horseshoe- Cowpoke Platter
This classic dinner at Diamond Horseshoe includes some plant based meat options that look, and taste like meat, courtesy of Impossible. The warm apple cake is another favorite we highly recommend.
- Cowpoke Salad: Tossed Mixed Greens with House-made dressing
- Impossible™ Meatloaf: Plant-based Meatloaf with Mashed Potatoes, Mushroom Gravy, and Seasonal Vegetables
- Johnny Appleseed’s Warm Apple Cake with Caramel and Whipped Topping
Liberty Tree Tavern- Tavern Keepers Feast
By far one of the most complete Vegetarian at Disney World Meals, this feast at Liberty Tree contains all the food groups, and protein you’ll need to fuel your day.
- Tavern Salad: Tossed Mixed Greens with House-made dressing
- Impossible™ Meatloaf: Plant-based Meatloaf with Mashed Potatoes, Mushroom Gravy, and Seasonal Vegetables
- Johnny Appleseed’s Warm Apple Cake: with Caramel and Whipped Topping
Pecos Ball Tall Tale Inn- Veggie Rice Bowl
While we’re not huge fans of Pecos Bills, since they took away the taco bar, it was nice to see the introduction of a full entree, and not just a side, that was plant based. The Veggie Rice Bowl includes Cilantro Rice topped with Grilled Peppers and Onions, Pinto Beans, Lettuce, Tomato, and Salsa. We’re grateful for the beans, since it feels like a real meal. It’s budget friendly at $11, and you can mobile order it too for an easy lunch or dinner option.
Pinocchio Village Haus Plant Based Cheese Pizza
While Pinocchio’s makes our list of Best Quick Service Restaurants at Magic Kingdom, if you’re a vegetarian and eating cheese, just order the cheese or margherita pizza instead. There is a plant based cheese pizza here, but it doesn’t come with any veggies or bells and whistles, per se, so if you’re vegan we’d recommend grabbing a salad as well so you can have some nutrients in your meal.
Plaza Restaurant- Impossible Chili Burger
While not always open, The Plaza Restaurant does have two Plant based items on the menu if you’re a vegetarian or vegan at Disney World. Of course one of those things is an impossible meat burger… so if you’re not a fan, keep scrolling this post for other options. However, if you don’t mind the Impossible mean, then this burger will fill you up and keep you going. And as the ice cream parlor on Main Street, we were also happy to see that there is a non-dairy options for “ice cream.” It is soy based, but a definite step up from other vegan desserts in the parks.
- Impossible™ Chili Burger: Impossible™ Burger topped with Impossible™ Chili, Pico de Gallo, and Plant-based Cheddar on a Potato Roll
- Dark Chocolate-Banana Bread Pudding with Soy Milk Frozen Dessert: Dark Chocolate-Banana Bread Pudding topped with Chocolate Sauce and Soy Milk Frozen Dessert (Plant-based)

Skipper Canteen- Curried Veg Stew and Falafel
So grateful for the Falls Family Falafel at Skipper Canteen Restaurant, we know that we can get enough protein here to keep us going through the day. While the menu is ordered a la carte, here are the three dishes on the menu that are Plant Based at Skipper Canteen. While I would skip the dessert and just grab a dole whip instead, the falafel and the curry are nice options that you won’t see repeated at other Disney restaurants.
- Falls Family Falafel: A secret recipe of Chickpeas, Garlic, Onions, Lemon Juice, and Herbs served with House-made Edamame Hummus and Toasted Pumpkin Seeds (Plant-based)
- Curried Vegetable Crew Stew: A favorite of the Crew Stew Crew (especially Stu). Seasonal Vegetables and Pineapple Tofu in a House-made Curry Sauce served with Coconut Rice (Plant-based)
- Panna-Connie’s Congo Lime Delight: Lime ‘Panna Cotta’ served with Mango-Lime Sorbet and Fresh Fruit (Plant-based)
Tony’s Town Square- Spaghetti and Impossible Meatballs
While we absolutely loved our dinner at Tony’s Town Square Restaurant in Magic Kingdom, if you’re looking strictly for plant based, they only have a few items. However, if you’re a vegetarian that eats cheese, then you can easily get the Fettuccini Alfredo ( without the chicken), or the Rigatoni all Vodka, and a variety of desserts.
- House Salad: Mixed Greens, Tomatoes, Cucumber, and Olive Medley tossed in Balsamic Vinaigrette
- Spaghetti and Impossible™ Meatballs: Hand-crafted Impossible™ Meat, Mushroom, and Garlic Meatballs served over Spaghetti with Tony’s Marinara Sauce (Plant-based)
- Plant-based Affogato: Plant-based Vanilla Gelato, Coconut Milk Caramel, and Chocolate Cookie served with Freshly Brewed Espresso

Vegan and Vegetarian at EPCOT
Okay, so, several places in EPCOT Park are simply not worth the trip for Vegetarians at Disney World. Le Cellier is a steakhouse, and has very little that could possibly be adjusted for non-meat eaters. While Biergarten does have a plant based sausage and sauerkraut, it’s a very meat heavy restaurant that may not be to your liking. Here are the best restaurants if you’re a vegetarian at Disney World.
- Akershus- Plant Based Buffet
- Chefs de France- Ratatouille sur Quinoa
- Connections Eatery: Burgers and Pizzas
- Regal Eagle Smokehouse- BBQ Jackfruit Sandwich
- Rose and Crown- Savory Hot Pot
- Sunshine Seasons- Mediterranean Veg Sandwich
- Spice Road Table- Plant Based Entrees
- Via Napoli- Pizzas, Salads
- Garden Grill- Chip and Dales Harvest Feast
- Coral Reef- Roasted Cauliflower
- Space 220- Space Pad Thai with Tofu
Akershus- Plant Based Buffet
Offered for both breakfast and dinner, you can get plant based dining at Akershus while seeing the Disney Princesses at this Disney Character Dining restaurant. As one of the most budget friendly Disney Restaurants where you can see the princesses, this is a great option for families.
- For Breakfast there is mixed fruit, Nordic berry compote, plant based apple cake, plant based waffles, plant based egg scramble, home fry potatoes, and plant based sausage.
- For Lunch and Dinner, you can have field greens, plant based bread, carrots with green beans, green cabbage, mashed potatoes, plant based bratwurst, and plant based gelato.
Chefs de France- Ratatouille sur Quinoa
At Chefs de France, there are a few options on the menu for vegetarians at Disney World and one main plant based dish. It is, however, very good, and well worth the trip if you’re looking for something a little fancy. This restaurant also has a Gratin de macaroni, if you’re eating cheese, that is very decadent, combining cream and gruyere. And then there are also a variety of vegetarian friendly deserts here as well. Ratatouille sur quinoa is a vegetable Ratatouille served on quinoa with kale (Plant-based).
Connections Eatery: Burgers and Pizzas
If you’re looking for an easy grab and go plant based sandwich, the Connections Eatery and Cafe, always has at least one plant based option on the menu. At present, you can grab the Black Bean Burger. This is a House-made Black Bean Burger, with Lettuce, Tomato, Guacamole, and Chipotle Sauce, on a Toasted Brioche Bun. I most like that I could tell what ever single ingredient is here. No fake meat, clearly a black bean burger, with veggie toppings.
Regal Eagle Smokehouse- BBQ Jackfruit Sandwich
If you’re in EPCOT and like jackfruit, the Plant Based burger at the Regal Eagle BBQ Smokehouse isn’t that bad! This is a burger, topped with pulled BBQ Jackfruit, Coleslaw and Pickles on Garlic Toast served with choice of Side. You can also grab other vegan options here like Creamy Coleslaw, House-Made Pickles, Seasoned French Fries, and a Fresh Watermelon Cup.
Rose and Crown- Savory Hot Pot
While the Rose and Crown in the UK area of the World Showcase at Epcot has meat or fish in everything, there is a hot pot, made with Impossible meat that hits the spot, if you’re looking for something hearty. The Savory Impossible™ Hot Pot includes Seasonal Vegetables in a Plant-based Meat Casserole baked with a mashed potato topping (Plant-based).
Sunshine Seasons- Mediterranean Veg Sandwich
If you’re a vegetarian and not restricting dairy, at Sunshine seasons you can grab a variety of pastries for breakfast. And a selection of salads from the grab and go refrigerators. For instance the Power Greens Salad includes Mixed Greens, Quinoa, Blueberries, Blackberries, Almonds, Feta, and Balsamic Vinegar. Since these are pre-made, you can’t hold the feta, but they’re a great option if you’re eating cheese. And there is also a Mediterranean Veggie Wrap as well.
- Mediterranean Vegetable Sandwich: Roasted Red Pepper, Red Onion, Tomato, Arugula, Hummus, and Balsamic Vinaigrette on Herbed Focaccia served with Potato Chips (Plant-based)
Spice Road Table- Plant Based Entrees
Thankfully, Moroccan cooking has lots of options when it comes to meatless dining, making Spice Road Table a great place to grab lunch or dinner if you’re a vegetarian, vegan or eating plant based at Disney World. And, if you’re only a vegetarian, things like the naan bread, and dessert platter are also options.
- House-made Hummus Fries: Citrus-Chipotle and Preserved Lemon (Plant-based)
- Pomegranate-Chili Crispy Cauliflower: Red Pepper Aleppo Sauce (Plant-based)
- Dolmas: Grape Leaves filled with Rice and Herbs, Marinated Olives, Charred Lemon (Plant-based)
Via Napoli- Pizzas, Salads
At Via Napoli, there are a variety of pastas and pizzas that have cheese if you’re a vegetarian at Disney World. Salads, and breads are also good options. If you’re eating cheese you can order Manicotti, or Fettucine ( without the meat). And there are a variety of Pizzas available here of which you can pick and choose toppings. Via Napoli doesn’t have anything purely plant based or vegan, but for vegetarians, it’s perfect.
Garden Grill- Chip and Dales Harvest Feast
One of our favorite Disney Character Restaurants, the Garden Grill with Chip and Dale at EPCOT offers a breakfast and dinner option that is Plant Based.
- For Breakfast the Plant Based Harvest Feast for Breakfast includes Seasonal Fruit, Plant Based Mickey Waffles, Impossible Breakfast Sausage, Scrambled “Eggs”, and Skillet Potatoes.
- For Lunch and Dinner you can get a harvest garden salad, carrots and celery, smoked “sausage”, pilled “pork” with southern BBQ, home style mashed potatoes, green beans, seasonal veggies, and a farmers seasonal crumble with plant based vanilla ice cream.
Coral Reef- Roasted Cauliflower
As a surf and turf restaurant, there is very little at Coral Reef for vegetarians, vegans, and plant based eaters. That said, you can grab a salad, and the Roasted Cauliflower here, which are typically pretty good. As a farm to table sort of restaurants, a lot of the foods here, are grown on Disney property.
- Caribbean Salad with Tomatoes, Onions, Avocado, Crispy Plantains, Pigeon Peas, Key Lime Vinaigrette
- Roasted Cauliflower with Cippolini Onions, Key West Curry, Walnut-Gremolata, Radish
Space 220- Space Pad Thai with Tofu
One of the most fun restaurants at EPCOT, the Space 220 restaurant is worth a visit. We most like the lounge for it’s a la carte menu. The Space Pad Thai with Tofu Rice Noodles, Stir Fried Vegetables, Bean Sprouts, Chili Garlic Crunch, Sweet Soy Chili Sauce and crispy tofu is perfect for really special, unique meal, you won’t find anywhere else. One of our favorite dishes on this list!

- Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort- Sebastian’s Bistro
- Polynesian Village Resort- Ohana

Vegetarian at Disney World
There you have it! A lineup of what you can expect to eat, as a vegan and vegetarian, if you’re headed to Walt Disney World. While the restaurants have been getting better over the years in offering plant based dining, it’s always surprising how difficult it seems to implement. Pasta, and Bean dishes never seem to be the go-to, though simplest options. And things like quinoa, mushrooms, and cauliflower are almost always on the menu. Here’s hoping this post was helpful in helping you decide what to eat in each park on your next trip.
