Disneyland Hotel Review and Details

Disneyland Hotel entrance

It’s no secret that it’s a whole lot cheaper to stay off property at Disneyland than on property. Of the three Disneyland Resort hotels, the Disneyland Hotel is the most iconic! As Walt Disney’s original resort, it has all that vintage charm you would expect a hotel at Disneyland to have. But is it worth the high price tag? Here’s everything to know about the Disneyland Hotel.

When vacationing at Disneyland Resort, it is not necessary to stay on property at Disneyland. In fact, we often recommend staying off-property at Disneyland, for the simple reason that it’s cheaper. And there are many Hotels within Walking Distance of Disneyland that offer just as many amenities and conveniences. However, there is no magic like staying in a Disney Resort on property at Disneyland. Here’s everything to know before you go.

Disneyland Hotel Perks

Staying at a Disney Resort generally gets you close to the action, character dining and the parks, as well as Early Entry.

Early Entry at Disneyland Parks

One of the biggest perks of staying on property is the chance to get 30-minute early entry into the parks. While thirty minutes may not seem like much, the chance to get in lines early for popular rides can help on the busiest of days. It also makes it easier to tackle Disneyland Must Dos on your park day.

  • Disneyland Park: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday
  • Disney California Adventure Park: Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday
Dole Whip at Disneyland Hotel

Disneyland has Dole Whip

If you’re looking for Dole Whip, you can find it here! Such a nice perk. You can grab it at the Coffee House nearby the pool. So if you’re visiting Disneyland in warmer weather, you can grab a dole whip without even going in the parks and relax by the pool.

Disneyland Hotel Details and Decor

Disneyland Hotel Cost

The Disneyland Hotel runs about $470 per night for a standard room, $520 for a double room, and $580 for a deluxe room. Signature rooms run much pricier. Compare this with the local Anaheim area hotels around $150 a night and you can see why staying here could break the bank. Check out current Disneyland Hotel Prices.

Disneyland Hotel Parking Cost

The cost for self-parking at Disneyland Hotel is $40 (plus tax) per night, per vehicle. Valet service is $70 (plus tax) per night, per vehicle. And oversized vehicle parking is $45 (plus tax) per night, per vehicle. Of course, if you’re only visiting for a restaurant reservation then you can get 3 hours of Free Parking, with validation.

Is the Disneyland Hotel Worth the Cost?

First of all, let me start by saying, if you are on a budget, then Disneyland Hotel is not worth the extra cost. It really isn’t. That said, we’ll dive into the reasons here. But if you’re on a budget and looking for a quick answer, that’s it. Check out our post on Staying On or Off Property at Disneyland for options for staying near Disneyland Park on a budget.

Are there any Disneyland Hotel Deals?

If you are looking for a Disneyland Hotel Deal, then start by using hotels.com. We actually saved about $200/night for a stay here. While it still wasn’t cheap, it was definitely more affordable. I would recommend checking third-party sites before booking directly, simply because you still get all of the same perks and usually at a lower cost. Check out the Disneyland Hotel Deals.

Disneyland Hotel Review

So, do we recommend the Disneyland Hotel? Well, if you are only planning to go to Disneyland once, and have no budget restrictions, Yes!  And if you are planning on actually spending some time at your hotel, then sure, why not? It’s cute, it’s fun, and your kids (or your inner child) will love it. But, if you’re like most people and have to have a budget for your vacations, then we suggest you stay off-property at Disneyland. There are some hotels that are actually closer to the Parks. And if that’s where you are planning to spend most of your time anyway, then blowing your budget on the Disneyland Hotel is probably not the best idea. Hopefully this post has helped you to make the best decision regarding your trip, and whether this hotel is right for you.
